CNR/GTR/CVR HO Scale K-3 Pacific Kit
This kit is made up of brass etchings, MLW brass castings, Cal Scale brass castings, Precision Scale brass castings, various sizes of brass rod, NWSL 9 spoke engine truck wheels, as can motor and a Bowser USRA mechanism with 73" drivers. By 1940, there were many variations in this class from where the boiler check was mounted to how the running boards were mounted. The kit provides detailed step by step instructions that are second to none in the construction of this loco and give as much information as possible on which prototype number had which specific variations. The modeller can build whichever particular prototype they desire. Also available at no extra cost is the option to have Central Vermont Railroad castings substituted so the modeller can built one of the three K-3's that ran on the Central Vermont Railroad. However, the instructions do not include this option.
The first three pictures are of our pilot model CNR K-3-a 5563, built by Andrew Malette. The next 3 photos are of CNR K-3-b 5588, being built by Duane Drouillard. Excellent work Duane! The final two shots are of CNR K-3-a 5565 built by master custom builder John Morris for Shaun Arthur. Thanks for the pictures fellows.
